of the World's Most Famous Beach . . . draws visitors from
around the globe but is also a wonderful place to live. Daytona Beach is large
enough to offer great shopping, restaurants, and cultural attractions, yet does
so without the big-city traffic and crime problems of major metropolitan areas. Some of Florida's best and yet most affordable golf
is in the Daytona area. Area courses such as Indigo Lakes, Pelican Bay, LPGA,
Halifax Plantation, and Turnbull Country Club, as well as a dozen other quality
open-to-the-public courses, are within an easy drive of anywhere in the Daytona
Beach area, and residents often receive special rates in all but the busiest times
of the year. Water sports are enjoyed by many, and fishing
is outstanding in both salt water and in area fresh water lakes. The Daytona International
Speedway hosts several major NASCAR races each year and events such as Bike Week
and Biketoberfest bring thousands of vistors and initiate many related special
events.
